Selected for the residency across Angoulême, Bilbao and Québec.
During the residency she worked on La habitación de las monstruas. Work in progress was shown in Flores, trenes y monstruas at Azkuna Zentroa in 2026.

Her research in Irun led to El bosque del pensamiento mágico. Cómo se construye una bruja, published by Bitamine in 2025.
Cómic Barcelona grant · Lyon, 2024–2025
A residency in Lyon to develop La habitación de las monstruas. The project was exhibited at Cómic Barcelona in 2025.

Short biography
Carmen B. Mikelarena (Madrid, 1998), also known as Carmen B. Mike, is a comics author and visual artist. She studied Fine Arts at Complutense University of Madrid. Her first graphic novel, Etileno (2024), received the 2025 Splash award in the Entender el presente category. Her zine Al Congelador won the 2025 FanziMad award. Bitamine published El bosque del pensamiento mágico in 2025. She also works in illustration, textiles and ceramics. In 2026 she took part in the international comics residency in Angoulême, Bilbao and Québec with La habitación de las monstruas.
